Botox treatment:
1) Upper face:
a) Slight burning at the site of injection can be experienced during the treatment.
b) Small bumps might appear at the side of injection which will subside after 20-30 mins.
c) Bruising is possible.
d) No bending forward or backwards for 2-4 hours after injection.
e) Might experience slight headaches a few days after treatment. Take 2 pills of paracetamol if this happens.
f) Effects of botox will appear between 48h (experienced botox patients) or 1 week (first time botox patients), with a maximum effect at 14 days. Touch up should be done around this period.
g) Effects of botox decrease gradually over the course of 3-4 months) If you experience asymmetry it can be corrected at touch up.
2) Masseter:
a) Slight burning at the site of injection can be experienced during the treatment.
b) Bruising is possible.
c) Effects of botox will appear between 48h (experienced botox patients) or 1 week (first time botox patients), with a maximum effect at 1 month.
d) Over treating the area will lead to difficulty while eating. It is always better to under dose than over dose.
e) Masseter botox can be done for either slimming of face, or treating teeth grinding.
f) Effects of botox decrease gradually over the course of 3-4 months
3) Lower face:
a) Slight burning at the site of injection can be experienced during the treatment.
b) Bruising is possible.
c) If you experience asymmetry it can be corrected at touch up.
d) Effects of botox decrease gradually over the course of 3-4 months Patients who do a lot of core workouts (abs) might be bothered as help by pulling from the neck will be decreased.
e) Platysmal botox treats the jowling, creepy skin on the neck, laxity of the neckline and necklace lines.
f) If the area is over treated by an inexperienced injector, it can lead to problems in swallowing and talking. Choose your injector wisely.
